What is a Frosh Leader?
Frosh leaders are older McGill students who have been carefully selected to be your reference points throughout Frosh (as well as after!) and lead you and your group to events throughout the week. They are a great resource so don’t hesitate to ask them any questions you might have!
What is an O-Staff?
O-Staffs are also McGill students that help with all the logistical work. They are there to make sure things run smoothly so you can have the best Frosh possible. They help ensure all the events run smoothly so that you all have a great time, and hang in the “chill zones” if you need a break!
What is a Frosh group?
A Frosh group is a group of approximately 20-25 Froshies (you!) led by around 4 Frosh leaders. Your Frosh group will be made on day 1 of Frosh at poaching and you will do all your activities with this group!

What do I need for Frosh?
For Frosh you will need to have your McGill student ID provided by the school! In addition to this you are required to bring a valid piece of government I.D. as some of the private venues that we partner with require this I.D. for access. Finally, You will need your Frosh bracelet as well as your Frosh T-Shirt, provided by us at registration, to take part in every Frosh event!
In addition we also strongly recommend that you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, comfortable shoes, and a cellphone or some way to contact your leaders.
What if I don’t click with my Frosh group?
Don’t sweat it! You can always switch to a different group where you feel more comfortable. Reach out to a coord, or if you know the group you want to switch into, have your new group leaders reach out to their “point of contact” coord and we’ll get you switched to a new group!

What if I can’t afford the price of Frosh?
Inclusivity is one of the pillars for Arts Frosh and we want everyone to be able to participate. Should you be unable to afford the price of Frosh, we encourage you to apply for a bursary to cover the cost. This is on our site under “Home”. Please note due to budget restrictions, not all applicants will be able to receive a bursary; bursaries are attributed to those showing the most financial need as reported to us by the Scholarship and Student Aid Office.
What if I have a condition that might restrict my participation?
We have worked hard to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable during Frosh. If you fear that you will encounter barriers throughout Frosh, please reach out to our Equity, Diversity, & Inclusivity Coordinator at artsorientation.inclusivity@gmail.com so we can best accommodate you.

What is the drinking age and what if I am not of age?
The drinking age in Quebec is 18, as such if you are of age you are permitted to drink during Frosh. If you are not of age that’s okay! Frosh is not about drinking, and you are still able to fully participate in all of our events without the need for alcohol.
What if I don‘t drink or can’t drink alcohol?
If you don’t or can’t drink alcohol you can still have just as much fun at Frosh. People of legal age are able to drink if they would like to, but the purpose of Frosh is to get to know your peers, so don’t ever feel pressured to drink at any point. Each group also has a non-drinking leader each day! You are still able to fully participate and have fun at all of our events without the need for alcohol!
Do I have to go to every event?
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible during Frosh, which means there’s no pressure to show up at every event! If you don’t feel like attending an event, just make sure to let your leaders know so they don’t worry!
