Frequently Asked Questions
What is Frosh?
Taking place right before the beginning of the school year, Frosh is designed to introduce you (incoming McGill Students) to Montreal, life on campus, and the people you will be spending the next few years within an inclusive and fun environment. With a wide variety of different activities, you’re sure to have fun!
This year, Frosh will be from August 27th to 30th. You will have two ways to participate in Frosh, an online version, and a hybrid format.
What is a Frosh Leader?
Frosh leaders are older McGill students who are involved in the McGill community. They will be your reference points throughout Frosh (as well as after!) and lead you to events throughout the week. They are a great resource so don’t hesitate to ask them any questions you might have!
What is an O-Staff?
O-Staffs are also McGill students that help with all the logistical work. They are there to make sure things run smoothly so you can have the best Frosh possible. They help ensure all the events run smoothly so that you all have a great time, and hang in the “chill zones” if you need a break!
What is a Frosh group?
A Frosh group is a group of Froshies (you!) led by around 4 Frosh leaders. Your Frosh group will be made on day 1 of Frosh and you will do all your activities with this group!
What is a cohort?
Think of a cohort as a larger group within Frosh! These cohorts are made of 6 different Frosh groups that will be able to partake in limited events together. The cohort system was constructed with the ongoing pandemic in mind, to help better manage events, and keep both our participants and staff safe!
What is the I-team?
The I-team is a group of O-staff that help give our coordinators an extra hand leading up to and during Frosh! They work with our Implementation coordinator to make sure everything and everyone is where they need to be for our events to be a success!
What is a Frosh Coordinator?
Coordinators work the entire summer to plan Frosh. Each coordinator has a different, specific role like talking to sponsors, hiring leaders & staff, making sure Frosh is equitable and inclusive, and much more! Look for them in a Rainbow Road inspired Mario Kart tank! They cannot wait to meet all of you!

What are the safety protocols for COVID-19
Frosh 2022 will follow all the federal and provincial government regulations and recommendations for In-person events. In addition to the safety protocols at each venue, we have also created our own safety measure which we will follow for each in-person event.
Please visit the health and safety section of our website.
What do I need for Frosh?
For Frosh you will need to have your McGill student ID provided by the school! In addition to this you are required to bring a valid piece of government I.D. as some of the private venues that we partner with require this I.D. for access. Finally, You will need your Frosh bracelet, provided by us at registration, to take part in every Frosh event! We strongly encourage you to wear your Frosh T-shirts to all the events.
In addition we also strongly recommend that you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, comfortable shoes, and a cellphone or some way to contact your leaders.
What if I don’t click with my Frosh group?
Don’t sweat it! You can always switch to a different group where you feel more comfortable. Reach out to your “point of contact” coord and we’ll get you switched to a new group!
For health and safety reasons, Frosh groups this year will be furthermore grouped into cohorts for contact tracing purposes. If you have a hybrid ticket, you can switch to one of the other groups in your assigned cohort.
What do all of the different shirt colours represent?
While we have a limited availability of merchandise this year, you may see some Arts Frosh shirts around! For online events, O-Staff and coords will have their position in their names so you know who they are!

Inclusivity is one of the pillars for Arts Frosh and we want everyone to be able to participate. Should you be unable to afford the price of Frosh, we encourage you to apply for a bursary to cover the cost. This is on our site under “Home”. Please note due to budget restrictions, not all applicants will be able to receive a bursary; bursaries are attributed to those showing the most financial need as reported to us by the Scholarship and Student Aid Office.
What if I have a condition that might restrict my participation?
